Paichadze Was Close to Top 3

 

Luka Paichadze (2520) showed the best result from Georgian chess players at 35th Bulgarian Open Championship which ended up in the city of Bulgaria, Plovdiv. He earned 7.0 points in 9 rounds and took the 13th place. The third-placed Nikola Djukic of Montenegro (2537) had the same points.

Shota Azaladze (2466) took the 22nd place with 6.5 points. Salome Khazhomia (2180) took the 126th place with 4.5 points. Alexandr Fier of Brazil (2577) won the tournament. He lost only 0.5 point and earned 8.5 points. The Brazilian was one point ahead of second-placed Bartlomiej Heberla of Poland (2545).
