Luka Paichadze (2520) showed the best result from Georgian chess players at 35^th Bulgarian Open Championship which ended up in the city of Bulgaria, Plovdiv. He earned 7.0 points in 9 rounds and took the 13^th place. The third-placed Nikola Djukic of Montenegro (2537) had the same points.

Shota Azaladze (2466) took the 22^nd place with 6.5 points. Salome Khazhomia (2180) took the 126^th place with 4.5 points. Alexandr Fier of Brazil (2577) won the tournament. He lost only 0.5 point and earned 8.5 points. The Brazilian was one point ahead of second-placed Bartlomiej Heberla of Poland (2545).
