Georgian cadet judo team won three medals and took the 3rd place at the World Championship which took place in Miami. Overall the team collected four medals and took the 4th place.
There were 10 judokas in men’s team which is coached by Irakli Tsirekidze. Koba Mchedlishvili wrestled the most successfully – he became a world champion. Robinzon Beglarashvili (50kg) and Tamaz Kirakozashvili (73kg) were one point away from the victory.
Tornike Nagliashvili (50kg) and Erekle Arkhozashvili (55kg) needed one win to reach Top 3. Finally they tool the 5th place. Davit Ramazashvili (90kg) joined the competition on the last day of the tournament, on 11 August. He lost to Martin Oliveira of Argentina by waza-ari.
Junior Girls team, coached by Gia Tenadze arrived in Miami with five sportswomen and they finished the major tournament of the season with the silver medal of Mariam Janashvili (52kg). Mzia Beboshvili (48kg) also earned a point for the team. She was one victory away from the bronze medal and took the 5th place.
