Georgian national judo team has a brilliant start at European championship. On the first day of four-day tournament, on April 25, champions and prize winners were found out in two men weight categories, two Georgian wrestled and both of them became champion.
Amiran Papinashvili became champion in 60 kg weight category. He beat Azer Vugar Shirinly, Czech Pavel Petrikov, British Ashley Macuienz and Swiss Ludvik Chamartin.
Olympic champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66kg) beat Kamal Khan-Magomedov of Russia in the final match. Before this match he beat Belgian Yasper Lefevr, Romanian Remus Mirchea Lazea, Hungarian Benz Zambor and Azer Nihat Shikhalizada.
On April 26, champion and prize winners will be found out in 73 and 81 kg weight categories. Zebeda Rekhviashvili, Nugzar Tatalashvili (both of them 73 kg), Avtandil Chrikishvili and Levan Tsiklauri (both of them 81 kg) will wrestle at this tournament.
