Georgian National Judo Team finished Samsun “Grand Prix” with the medal of a bronze medal gained by Zebeda Rekhviashvili (73 kg) yesterday. Today, champions and prize winners were found out in four weight categories among men but in three categories among women, but there were any Georgian prize winners of champions there. In total 7 Georgians wrestled and only Onise Bughadze (+100 kg) and Irine Leionidze (+78) went through the final, but finally both of them took the fifth place and gained 6 ranking points.
Bughadze started the tournament with a victory as a result of gaining yellow card with Uzbek Elior Masharipov. In the 1/8 final he beat Belarusian Olympic Champion (2004) Ihar Makarau with awarding wazari. Then he lost with Matiaj Seraj and went through the repechage. “In Bronze Semi-final” he beat Russian Renat Saidov. Bughadze lost in the match for fighting for the third place withBritish Chrsitopher Sherington.
Only Leionidze represented Georgian women team at “Grand Slam”. She started competition in the 1/4final, where he beat Russian Anaid Mkhitarian. In the semi-final she lost with German Caroline Wais at the end of the match. In repechage final she was to beat a compatriot Jasmin Kuelbs, but finally lost.
In the 81kg weigth category, Ioseb Chilindrishvili and Lasha Zurabiani wrestled only once. Chilindrishvili lost with Italian Masimiliano Carolo and Zurabiani lost with Turkish Ahmet Saris.
Zviad Gogogchuri (90kg) rested in the first round. In the 1/8final he lost with Dutch Jilo Elmon in two minutes.
Levan Zhorzholiani (100kg) also started in 1/8 final and lost with Ukrainian Dmitro Luchin. Davit Loriashvili lost with Ukrainian Artem Bloshenk in 1/16 final. Then he lost with Czech Lukas Krapalek.
Georgian national team took the 19th place, among men- the 12th and among women the 14th places.
