Gold-Silver Start

The Georgian freestyle wrestling team finished the first day of Intercontinental Cup with gold and silver medals. The tournament is under way in Khasavyurt. Beka Bujiashvili (55 kg) won gold medal and became a champion. Levan Kelekhsashvili (66 kg) took the second place.

Before the final Bujiashvili defeated hosts Dzhabrail Vazirkhanov and Zelimkhan Daudov. In the final he won over another host Shamil Imarov.   

According to the Russian website, Kelekhsashvili beat Magomed Muslimov of Azerbaijan 17:8 in semifinal. In final he lost to Khaybula Shaalov of Dagestan 0:6.

Yesterday Sandro Aminashvili (84 kg) also wrestled on the mat but he was one win away from winning a prize. He lost in repechage final and took the 5th place.

Today champions and prize winners will be found out in 60, 74, 96 and 120 kg. Murtaz Kvesadze, Amiran Kazarashvili (both 60 kg), Giorgi Sanodze, Davit Tlashadze, Jumber Kvelashvili (all three 74 kg), Zurab Akhobadze (96 kg) and Giorgi Sakandelidze (120 kg) will wrestle in the name of Georgia.
