Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team has only one bronze medal in four weight classes. The team earned 16 points and is behind Bulgaria (30), Turkey (26), Azerbaijan (23), Belarus (22), Russia (22) and Armenia (21). Today, Manuchar Tskhadaia (66kg), Zurab Datunashvili (74kg) and Vladimer Gegeshidze (84kg) will improve result of the Georgians.
24 participants weighed in 66kg. Tskhadaia is No.22 seed and will start participation from 1/16 final. His opponent will be Tomasz Swierk of Poland. Winner between them will wrestle against winner between Etlinger of Croatia and Passos of Portugal.
Datunashvili will start participation from 1/8 final. His first opponent will be Balint Korpasi of Hungary. In case of victory, the Georgian will wrestle against winner between Bozo Starcevic of Croatia and Viktor Nemes of Serbia. Rafig Huseynov of Azerbaijan, Seref Tufenk of Turkey, Rafik Manukyan of Armenia and Pascal Eisele of Germany are on this side of the draw.
In 1/8 final Gegeshidze will wrestle against Andrian Mocanu of Moldova. In case of the win, he will wrestle against Hristo Marinov of Bulgaria. But before that the Bulgarian must defeat Artur Omarov of Czech Republic. Marinov is current European champion and world champion 2010.
