Tehran is hosting World Cup of Freestyle Wrestling. The Georgian team is participating in the tournament. According to the decision of Revaz Mindorashvili, head coach of the team, the main candidates of all seven weight class are preparing for European Championship in Borjomi. Aleksandre Kakhniashvili took the team to Iran.

The Georgian wrestlers lost to the American team 2:5. Malkhaz Kurdiani (60kg) and Tedore Ebanoidze (96kg) brought points to the team. Kurdiani beat Olympic prize winner Scott Coleman and Ebanoidze – James Bergman.

Givi Davidov (55kg) lost to Obenson Blanc, Malkhaz Zarkua (66kg) – to Brent Metcalf, Iakob Makarashvili (74kg) – to Olympic champion James Barros, Nodar Egadze (84kg) – to Maxwell Askren, Tornike Khidesheli (120kg) – to Tervel Dlagnev.

The Georgian team lost to Iran 0:7. The Team gained the first victory over Bulgaria – 6:1. Davidov, Zarkua, Makarashvili, Egadze, Ebanoidze and Khidesheli gained points. Kurdiani lost.

In the final fight the Georgians will wrestle against Japan. Finalists are already known. Iran and Russia will fight for World Cup.
