Russian basketball national team’s head coach David Blutt will resign upon the end of the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
Blutt shares his future plans with public after a struggling win over Cot d’Ivore. Russia has a real chance of losing the game to Africans, who missed some huge opportunities to score vital points, but finally won 72:66. Note, that championship hosts Turkey outscored Ivory Coast by 39 points – 86:47.
“This is my last tournament with the Russian side. This is my final decision.”- concluded American manager.
David Blutt is in charge of the Russian basketball national team head coach position since 2006. In 2007 Blutt led his team to the European title. In despite of that, Russia could not qualify from the group in 2008 Beijing Olympic Game and finished in 7th position in the last European Championship.
