Gold of Nakhutsrishvili and Silver of Odzelashvili

 

Georgian sambo wrestler Levan Nakhutsrishvili is a current world and European champion in 68 kg. The Georgian won another European title in Bucharest yesterday. Nino Odzelashvili (72 kg), member of the Georgian women’s team, won silver medal.

Levan Nakhutsrishvili beat Aliaksandr Koksha of Belarus in the final. Kirill Melnichenko of Ukraine and Yevgeni Sukhomlinov of Russia took the third place.

Yesterday champions and prize winners were also found out in 52 and 90 kg. Dimitri Muladze (52 kg) and Paata Gviniashvili (90 kg) wrestled in the name of Georgia but they could not get in top 3.

The women wrestled in 48, 60 and 72 kg. Shorena Sharadze (60 kg) could not win medal. Nino Odzelashvili (72 kg) won silver medal when she lost to Olesia Volkova of Russia in the final.

Today men champions and prize winners will be found out in 57, 74 and 100 kg and women – in 52, 64 and 802 kg. Vakhtang Chidrashvili (57 kg), Besarion Berulava (74 kg) and Davit Loriashvili (100 kg) will wrestle in the name of Georgia.

On May 18 Zviad Odoshashvili (62 kg), Nikoloz Kutsia (82 kg), Nodar Metreveli (+100 kg) and Irine Leonidze (+78 kg) will wrestle on the Romanian mat.
