After two days, Georgian freestyle wrestling team will end up meeting in Dusheti and the team will leave for German city Dortmund to participate in European Championship. Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team which is also training in Dusheti will arrive in Germany three days later than freestyle wrestling team. Today, wrestlers held open training and the management of Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia attended it. Minister Lado Vardzelashvili wished success to the sportsmen.
“I always pay attention to your European preparation and I know that you have all condition to compete in the championship successfully. I want to wish you success. Before wrestling think that the whole Georgia stands behind you and you will make Georgians fans happy in case of victory” – Lado Vardzelashvili told members of the team.
European Championship will take place in German city Dortmund on March 29 – April 3. On March 29-30, freestyle wrestling team will wrestle on the match. March 31 and April 1 will be for women and Greco-Romans will end up the championship on April 2-3.
Before the meeting, Zaza Turmanidze, head coach of Georgian freestyle wrestling team, named wrestlers who would leave for Dortmund. Vladimir Khinchegashvili will wrestle in 55 kg, Malkhaz Zarkua – in 60 kg, Koba Kakaladze – in 66 kg, Davit Khutsishvili – in 74 kg, Davit Marsagishvili – in 84 kg, Beldukh Gavashelishvili – in 96 kg and Davit Modzmanashvili – in heavyweight.
Begi Darchia, head coach of Greco-Roman team, will write down the staff for Dortmung today evening.
