Milton Haig: "Nothing will Be New. We Must Beat Portugal by Open Play"

After victory in Brussels, the Georgian national rugby union team held the first practice on “Shevardeni” base.

After the practice, Milton Haig, head coach of the team, evaluated the match against Belgium and talked about the upcoming match. The coach confirmed that “The Lelos” will play open match and will try to achieve success this way.

Milton Haig: “Perhaps, we expected more from ourselves. The boys were astonished when they found out that the Belgians had such rugby players who play for good French teams. The weather and pitch was bad. So, it was hard to play. I am happy to win the match. As for the match against Portugal, that team has New Zealander coach. We must expect everything from the opponent. We will not do anything new in offence. We will try to open the play”.

Davit Kacharava, back liner of the Georgian team, and Vito Kolelishvili, third liner of the scrum, are waiting for the match.

Davit Kacharava: “Portugal is a difficult opponent for us. It will be a tough game. Portugal lost to Romania and now it will do everything to beat us. We must be concentrated to gain another victory”.

Viktor Kolelishvili: “I arrived in Tbilisi two days ago. Monday was for restoration procedures and now we practiced. We hope to minimize mistakes against Portugal. We want the fans to come to the stadium and to support us actively”.
