Merab Gigauri, midfielder of Georgian U-19 team, plays for Polish “Jagiellonia” on loan from “Torpedo” Kutaisi. Gigauri did not often play in the main team of “Jagiellonia”. Though, he had (and has) a good press and was one of the best in reserve team.

Gigauri stated in an interview with “World Sport” that he does not want to return to “Torpedo” – “Jagiellonia” is going to buy him:

- Do you know where will you continue playing?

- Mr. Levan Pkhakadze, presindet of “Torpedo”, does not want to sell me. I am against of returning to Georgian Championship. I hope, Mr. Levan will agree on suggestion of Polish team.

- Is there a disagreement on money?

- I do not know how much “Jagiellonia” is paying for me. Football player has one chance and he must use it. In my place everyone would stay in Poland. If you go to Georgian Championship from here, you will be disappointed. Here is everything what football player needs: good stadiums, people go to stadium. This is Europe and here is better chance than in Georgia. And my wish is to stay here.

- Are the negotiations underway between the clubs?

- Yes. I hope, they will reach agreement and I will stay in “Jagiellonia”. I got used to this club. Everybody treats me well. “Jagiellonia” is my second family. So, I want to stay here.

- Why so radically? “Torpedo” is a good team too. Besides that, it has traditions.

- “Torpedo” is a traditional club but fate of my career is decided now. I always remember my days in “Torpedo” well. I am grateful to everyone who let me play in Kutaisi but I want everybody to understand me now. Perhaps, I will not have such chance anymore. By the way, “Torpedo” was going to dismiss me last year. They were selling me to “Chkherimela” of First League and I do not know, how my career would have continued. Fortunately, “Jagiellonia” showed up and I came here. I proved that I can play here and they want me to stay here. I will always be fan of “Torpedo” but let them forgive me. Fate of my career is decided me.
