Malkhaz Asatiani midfielder of Georgian National Team is free agent and waiting for new offers. After 8 seasons, which he spent in “Lokomotive” Moscow, he still wants to play in Russian Premier League. His return in “Dinamo” Kiev is also discussed.  By the way Asatiani played in three clubs and all of them became champions. “World Sport” took an interview from Malkhaz Asatiani.
-  Malkhaz it can be said that your career finished in “Lokomotive” Moscow finally.
- Yes it did. I have already left “Lokomotive” and while saying bye thanked everyone.
- You spent 8 years in the club and it would be difficult to say bye them.
- I agree with you, “Lokomotive” played big role in developing of my career. There were a lot of bad things, but good things were more. That’s why I love this club very much.
- Yuri Siomin also played big role in it, you were considered privileged player of him..
- Besides him I was playing with other coaches also, but I was the most successful while working with him.  
- Why did you leave “Lokomotive”?
- If the club offered me I would accept it. Just they did not offer me to stay and that’s why I left.
- 29-year-old player became free agent and it makes easier to find new club.
- Yes, it is really advantage.
- Can you say anything about new club?
- I cannot yet. When there is some real offer, I will inform you.
-  As far as I know, you are going to accept Russian profitable version.
- If there is normal version from Russian side, I got on playing there and prefer to continue my career there. Now there are New Year’s days and no one has time for my transfer.
- Malkhaz there are talks that Siomin wants you to play again in “Dinamo” Kiev.
- No one offered me it yet.  If I believe in journalists, “Monacco” France also was interested in me, but no one contacted me.

- Last year you returned in the main staff of National Team and 2010 was positive year. How would you estimate National Team’s playing?
- I will not be wrong if I say that this year was successful for our National Team. Guys were joking that if all matches were held last year, we would go through final. Real picture is the following- unexpectedly, we finished year without loose.  We are real candidates to go through the group.
- What are the chances of going through the group?
- There is no weak opponent in our group, everyone has already studied how to play. As for strong ones, those are Croatia, Greece and Israel. Our aim is to do our best for achieving our goal. The main is to continue playing as we were doing it last year.
- You are not new player in National Team and always were determined..
- Everyone always was determined, but some factors prevented it. Temur Ketsbaia managed to create team and we succeed.  
- Ketsbaia proved that there is no need of foreign coaches for training National Team.
- To tell the truth result is the best prove.
- You are in National team for 10 years and within this time there were four foreign coaches.  Can you remember anything positive?
- We had quite well start in time of Alain Giresse ( in Turkey 1:1, against Albania 2:0);  we showed normal playing while Klaus Toppmöller was our coach. While Héctor Raúl Cúper was our coach, we could not win only one match.  He was working in a lot of teams and there is no doubt about his qualification, but he could not succeed in national team and could not find common language with players. Maybe we do not show some extraordinary playing under heading of Temur Ketsbaia, but we have still result.

- It seems that coaches started creating Team with regulating playing of defense line.
- Whole world plays with defense line not only Ketsbaia.  Mourinho won Champions League with defensive tactic, did he do anything wrong? I would change very famous phrase and will say- the best attack is defense.  We are not among grands and why people are surprised that we play with defensive tactic.

- You have your own apartment in Moscow and feel as at home there, that’s why you want to continue career there, do not you?
- Of course, I do. I lived there for 8 years and got on everything very well. No matter, you are living in hired flat or in your own apartment, club pays for it.  
- How would you estimate playing of Georgian players in Russian Premier League?
- Firstly I will say about myself and then about others. I missed a lot of matches and that’s why I am dissatisfied. Jano Aananidze was in reserve most times, I think player with such potential has everything best ahead.  The bests were Georgian of “Spartak” Nalchik: Gogita Gogua and Davit Siradze. Before leaving for Turkey, one of the best was Aleko Amisulashvili.
- There are a lot of Georgians in “Volga”, do not you want to join them?
- I cannot say anything yet. If there is some news I will inform you.
