“Academy” and “Vissol Kochebi” competed successfully on the first day of Georgian Sevens Rugby Championship’s final stage. “Academy” won 4 matches from 4 and the first place in Group A is guaranteed. Tomorrow “Kochebi” has chance of getting the same chance at the ending round of sub-group stage.
The main competitor of “Academy” in Group A was “Batumi XV”, but “Academy” managed to beat “Batumi” 26:00. Now they have time for rest till the semifinal, as for “Batumi” they have to fight against “Bagrati” Kutaisi for gaining the second place. “Kharebi” Rustavi and “Iveria” have the chance of going through the semifinal.
The most important match in Group B was between “Vissol Kochebi” and “Aia” Kutaisi. Both tams scored 2-2 try, but “Vissol Kochebi” performed both conversions well. “Aia” performed only one conversion well and in a result of it finally they lost. In case of winning with “Khuligana”, “Vissol Kochebi” will become a leader of the group and will have chance of fighting for cup. “Aia” has quite good showing, they held 4 matches and lost only one. But in spite of it there is such point difference that “Aia” cannot take the second place. “Lokomotivi” held the weakest match, this club even could not manage to gain a point in three matches. They will try to gain any score with “Poti” on the last day.
