Georgian judo team finished Rotterdam Grand Prix with 2 medals. Today Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg) added silver medal to gold medal of Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg) which he won on the first day of the tournament.
Liparteliani won 4 matches before the final. He beat Venezuelan Jose Camacho, Polish Krzysztof Weglarz and Spanish David Alarza by ippons. In the semifinal he won over Russian Kirill Voprosov. In the final, main and gold times finished draw against Japanese Yuya Yoshida. Finally, referees declared Japanese judoka as a winner.
Today other 3 Georgians wrestled on tatami. Zviad Gogochuri (90kg), Davit Loriashvili (100 kg) and Adam Okruashvili (+100 kg) lost in the 1/4 final and took the 5th places.
