Zurab Javakhadze (2448) is in the 25^th place with 3.5 points. Bachana Morchiashvili (2377) and Giga Kuparadze (2489) are in the 32^nd-34^th places with 3.0-3.0 points.

The Azerbaijani tournament has 3 leaders who have 4.5-4.5 points: Igor Kurnosov (Russia, 2649), Eltaj Safarli (Azerbaijan, 2644) and Alexander Khalifman (Russia, 2614).

In the 7^th round Pantsulaia will play against Sergei Zhigalko of Belarus (2656) with white pieces. Mchedlishvili will play against Aleksandr Shimanov of Russia (2639) with black pieces.

The Azerbaijani tournament is based on Swiss system and it will end up on May 1. Prize money of the tournament is 60 000 USD. Champion will win 10 000 USD. The prize money will be distributed to 30 chess players.
