Levan Nakhutsrishvili, member of the Georgian Sambo team, became the World Champion in the 68 kg weight category.

The main competition of the season started on November 22 in Sankt Petersburg and will last until 24. Yesterday, six Georgians wrestled and only one of them won the medal. According to the official website, which reviews the World Championship, we learn only a scant information, that Levan Nakhutsrishvili defeated Bulgarian Martin Ivanov in the decisive meeting.

Givi Nadareishvili (52kg), Giorgi Baindurovi (90kg), Niko Bibilashvili (100kg – combative sambo), Shorena Sharadze (60kg) and Nino Odzelashvili (72kg) also were involved, but they all stayed beyond the top three.

Today four Georgians will wrestle: Vakhtang Chidrashvili (57kg), Kakha Mamulashvili (74kg) and Lasha Guruli (100kg) in sporting sambo, and Davit Chabukashvili (82kg) in combative sambo.
