Today Lado Vardzelashvili Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs with other reps of Ministry visited Olympic Preparation Center in Dusheti.
Gia Natsvlishvili the president of the Olympic Committee, Giorgi Asanidze Olympic Champion and head of Sport and Youth Affairs Committee in Parliament and Olympic Weightlifting Champion Kakhi Kakhiashvili also were with Minister.
Today was opened Olympic Preparation Centre and renewed gym of wrestling named after Giorgi Asanidze. The gym is equipped with modern technology, which will give opportunity to Georgian sportsmen to sweat much during training.
Giorgi Asanidze was very happy due to this fact, he thanked Ministry of Sport and Olympic Committee and mentioned that for him is very important that weightlifting gym is named after him in this center.
Opening of this sport center was symbolically seeing off Georgian Weightlifters who leave for the World Championship on September 21. Tournament is licensed and Georgian sportsmen will fight for winning the right of participation in London Olympiad. According to Giorgi Asanidze, he cannot state any preliminary results, because weightlifter team is staffed with young sportsmen, but he underlined sportsmen’s inspire and hopes that Georgians will succeed in this Championship.
Lado Vardzelashvili also visited whole territory around Dusheti Sport Complex, he attended laying the foundation of new hotel which will be named as “Olympic House”. This hotel is for 150 men and will serve sportsmen, Olympics and Olympic delegations and everyone whose wish will be to train in Dusheti Sport Complex.
As for sport complex, building process consists of several stages and finally will be finished in two years. As reps of Sport Ministry stated, it is planned to see off Georgian Olympic Delegation for London Olympic Championship from Dusheti Sport Complex.
Shooting range also will be built in this sport center there also two stadiums one with artificial lawns and one with natural and paths for weightlifters. There will be built archery targets and swimming- pool, some other gyms also will be renewed in this sport complex.
Minister mentioned that, works are doing according to schedule and hopes that this complex will be ready before deadline.
