The 15th Maegashira of East Gagamura also had successful day, after three unsuccessful matches he managed to win. 23-year-old Teimuraz Jugeli beat the13rd Maegashira Ksugao and won the 5th match. The heaviest sumoist (202 kg) for keeping place in Elite needs to show kachi-koshi. The next opponent of Gagamura is No.2 of Ziuri Division Vakanetro. Gagamura beat him in March.
Jugeli and levan Gorgadze have the same showing in Tokyo Basho (5wins and 4 lost). He had komus’s title and now he is the 2nd Maegashira of West. Kotoshogiku the 3rd Maegashira of East beat 22-year-old sportsman with iorokiri.
On the 10th day of the tournament, Tochinoshini faces off the 4th Maegashira of West Aminishiki, who won 6 times. Exactly one year ago, this year in March and May as well as July Georgian was defeated by Japanese.
This Aki Basho is the most successful for Georgians and traditionally it lasts for 15 days and finishes on September 26. Kokkai, Tochinoshini and Gagamura have chance to show positive balance and it will happen first time in Makuuchi.
