Georgian tennis player Oksana Kalashnikova who has a really good period won another tournament. Kalashnikova and Aleksandra Krunic of Serbia were No.1 seed at the Trabzon tournament (Turkey, 50 000 USD) and justified a status of favorite.
In the first round Turkish tennis players Akdemir and Anil did not show up and Oksana and Aleksandra made through to the second round. In ¼ final the Georgian and the Serb defeated Russians – Bychkova and Shamayko 6:1, 4:6, 10:6. In semifinal they won over No.4 seed Polish-Turkish duet 6:1, 6:1. In final Oksana and Aleksandra beat Amiraghyan of Armenia and Jakupovic of Slovenia 6:2, 6:1.
Kalashnikova is in the 51st place with 1675 points on WTA doubles ranking. She earned 70 points in Trabzon.
Ekaterine Gorgodze and Sofia Kvatsabaia also participated in doubles tournament but in the first round they lost to Linette and Ozgen 5:7, 1:6.
Kalashnikova also competed in singles draw. In ¼ final she lost to Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany 3:6, 1:6. By the way, Friedsam made through to final, like Yuliya Beygelzimer of Ukraine. The Ukrainian won over Ekaterine Gorgodze 6:3, 6:2 in the first round.
Tamar Chalaganidze, Mariam Bolkvadze and Sofia Kvatsabaia also participated in the Trabzon tournament but they could not overcome the qualifying draw.
