The international tournament (250 000 USD) has started in the city of Australia, Hobart. The Georgian tennis players are participating only in doubles draw.

No.3 seed duet of Oksana Kalashnikova and Irina Buryachok of Ukraine defeated Natalie Jane Grandin of South Africa and Alison Riske of America 4:6, 6:4, 10:4. In ¼ final they will face either the Australian duet or the Spanish one.

Kalashnikova and Buryachok earned 60 ranking points. If they go through semifinal, they will gain 110 points.

Unfortunately, Sofia Shapatava has already finished participation in the tournament. The Georgian and Anastasiya Vasylyeva of Ukraine lost to the Taiwanese-Slovak duet 4:6, 1:6.
