Georgian Judo Federation invited all age teams of Japanese judokas for training to Georgia. Today, Georgian judokas condoled with Japanese embassy because of current events.

Management of the federation, coaching staff of the team and sportsmen went to Japanese embassy, brought flowers, lit candles and made notes in book of condolence.

“We express our support to Japanese people. We sent letter of condolence to Japanese Judo Federation. Georgian team was in Japan while the tragedy and fortunately, none of the members were injured” – stated Giorgi Aleksidze, acting president of Georgian Judo Federation. Varlam Liparteliani, one of the leaders of the team and finalist of European Championship, mentioned friendly relationship of Georgian and Japanese judokas. He told about Japanese days and said that local Georgians respected Georgian sportsmen.
