On August 20-22 judokas from Akhmeta, born in 1996-97 wrestled with successful result at the International Tournament which was held in the city of Latvia, Liepaia. Approximately 400 judokas from Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Estonia and Georgia participated in this tournament. Akhmeta team represented Georgia. Head coaches Zezva Shatirishvili and Giorgi Modebadze took 6 sportsmen and none of them lost against foreigner opponents. Finally, Georgian team gained 5 golden and 1 silver medals.

Niko Chikaidze became champion in 35 kg weight category, Levan Dardzuli in 55kg, Zviad Mrelashvili in 60 kg, Vano Churchkhelashvili in 66 kg and in +66 kg weight category was held Georgian duet, where Davit Ramazashvili beat Mikheil Murtazishvili.
