Levan Zhorzholiani (100 kg), Georgian judoka, lost to French Cyrille Maret in the 1/8 final and ended his participation in this competition.
The fate of the game decided only one Shido. Before the final whistle, 15 seconds earlier, when both of judokas had three-three Shido, the referee warned Zhorzholiani for the 4th time and declared Mare as a winner.
