Jobava Played Draw with Areshchenko

 

 

After the eight rounds at Black Sea Cup, Bulgarian Ivan Cheparinov (2689) advanced, Russian Vladimir Malakhov (2700) is half-point behind him. Supposedly, winner at the tournament ongoing in the city of Bulgaria, Burgas, will be found out between these two players. Two rounds are left before ending. Georgian grand master Baadur Jobava (2734) does not compete successfully, he has the highest ranking among other participants but he is still in the fifth place among six players. In the eighth round Baadur played draw with Ukrainian Alexander Areshchenko  (2702) with black pieces and gained 2.5. points.

It is already known that in the ninth round Jobava plays against outsider Turkish Suat Atalik (2603), in the final round Georgian player plays against leader Cheparinov. Prize money of Black Sea Cup is 10 000 EUR, where the winner will gain 2 750 EUR. The tournament will be held in two circles and ten rounds and will finish on September 19.
