Jaba Jigauri, author of a winning goal against Dutch U-21 team, said in the interview with “World Sport” that the Georgian youth team could fight for the second place in the qualifying circle of European Championship 2015.

-After losing 0:6 in Tbilisi, winning over Netherlands in away match was quite surprising...  

-It’s very sudden and at the same time pleasant.  After losing 0:6, we wanted to show people and first of all to ourselves, that we are not such team which can lose to Netherlands 0:6. We have gone there for victory and thanks to god we won.

-How can you explain the victory? The opponent did not estimate you properly or the team played very well?

-By the way, Netherlands needed victory. Maybe, this victory (6:0) makes them relax. They were excessively self-confident, which was a little irritating, but they were punished. We had the motivation and the guys believed in themselves. We could score more. We hit the ball to the goal post twice.

-Do you think that the Georgian team hold the best match against Netherlands?

-Despite the fact that we lost to Slovakia 0:1 away, we played at a high level. After losing to Netherlands 0:6, we restored our forces and beat Scotland 2:1. In my opinion, we hold the best match against Scotland, but due to results, victory against Netherlands is the most valuable.

-Which meeting was found to be the most disappointing?

-Losing to Slovakia 0:1. We played very well. We created a lot of moments and could not use it, and the Slovaks used the only moment. If this game ended in a draw, maybe we could show the other result in the group. This team deserved more.

-Do you think the the Georgian U-21 team could fight for the second place?

-We could take the second place in the group. Something unexpected happened, we have made childish mistakes. I wish good luck to the future generation. They are really talented and I am glad that I played with them. In the future, they can compensate our loss and play at the European Championship.
