Hou Yifan is a new World Champion. 16-year old Chinese ((born February 27, 1994, in Xinghua, Taizhou, Jiangsu, China) prodigy became the youngest World Champion among Women in the history. She succeeded to defeat her compatriot Ruan Lufei (2480) in tie-breaks with 3:1 score.

The prize money of World Championship is 450 000 $ and the winner awards with 60 000 $.

It is noteworthy that Hou became the youngest World Champion after Maya Chiburdanidze who won her title at the age of seventeen. The achievement of Georgian legend stayed for 32 years until today. At the age of 12 she became women grandmaster and at the age of 14 got grandmaster’s title among boys, it was record showing.
