Gvetadze Ended in Semi Final, Paikidze Went through Final

At first those chess players who had right of playing in semi quarter according to rating began playing. In the first qualifying round none of Georgians took place. The best 20 players got right to go through the semi final. Sopho Gvetadze will play in semi final among other celebrities.
60 chess players started fighting for 6 places. Among them is Europe Champion 2001 Almira Skripchenko (France, 2464), Europe Champion 2000 Natalia Jukova (Ukraine, 2499), World Champion 2001-2004 Chen Zhu (Qatar , 2480), the 3rd place winner of Europe Championship Natalia Pogonina (Russia, 2491) and so on.
Participants will fight in 13 rounds and will hold two matches against one opponent. So, it is possible to gather maximum 26 points.
Finally, Irina Krush (2490) who represents the U.S.A showed the best result 19.0. She went through the final as well as Russian Vera Nebolshina (2360, 17.5 points), Ukrainians Natalia Jukova (2499, 16.5), Inga Gaponenko (2469, 15.5 ) and Maria Muzichk (2464, 15.0) and French Almira Skripchenko (2464, 15.5).
Sopho Gvenetadze is half point behind those players who went through the final, she was among leaders for a long time but semifinal was instable and she took the 9th place with 14.5 points.
In spite of this other Georgian girl 17-year-old Nazi Paikidze who was invited personally by other managers of this tournament. Nazi Paikidze became the winner of Russian Supreme League.
Beside Paikidze, World current Champion Aleksandra Kusteniuk (Russia, 2524), Europe Champion twice Tatiana Kosintseva (Russia, 2573), Europe Champion Nadejda Kosintseva (Russia, 2565), Valentina Gunina (Russia, 2465), Humpy Koneru the second place owner in women (India, 2593) World (2004-2006) and Europe Champion (2002) Anthuaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria, 2551) twice Europe Champion (2005,2008) Katetina Lahno (Ukraine, 2539), World Champion U-20 Anna Muzichuk (Slovenia, 2525) and Mari Sebag (France, 2499) were personally invited at this tournament.
Decisive matches will be held on September 17-18 (15-15 rounds every day), prize money is 50 000 EUR.
According to poll at official web-site of tournament, most part of fans predict that Tatiana Kosintseva (26.7%) will be the winner. Aleksandra Kosteniuki -21.7 % .  6.8  % of inquired people consider that Nazi Paikidze will win this tournament.
