Mamuka Gorgodze, the best rugby player of Georgia in 2008-2009 and the second third-liner of French “Montpellier”, could not manage to return to the national team.

Richard Dixon called up a 26-year-old Gorgodze for the match against Portugal and he was in the main staff but at the last training, Gorgodze broke muscle. In spite of that the injury is not serious Gorgodze will not be able to play against Portuguese team. Changes have been made in the list. Giorgi Chkhaidze will substitute Mamuka and Vasil Kakovin was added to the reserve staff.

Gorgodze had debut in “The Lelos” in 2003 when the team played against Spain. After that, he held 35 matches in the team. Gorgodze scored 18 tries (17 + 1 conversion) and earned 90 points for the team. Last time he played for the national team was against Argentina on November 14, 2009. Mamuka missed the most important matches of last year because of disqualification. Unfortunately, disqualifications spread on the club as well as on the national team. At the beginning of the year, Gorgodze got injury and could not play against Ukrainian and Spanish teams. Two weeks ago, he recovered from the injury but now he is injured again and his return to the national team is planned on March 12 against Romania.
