Otar Gogava (55kg) a mmber of Georgian national free-style team gained a bronze medal at "Throne Cup" traditional international tournament in Tehran. Tristan Chirgadze (60kg), Davit Lovzhanidze (66kg) and Jumber Kvelashvili (74kg) were very close to bronze medal but finally took the fifth place. There are 7 representatives of Georgia at this tournament and the team took the second place, as a result they gained 15 000 USD from prize money.
Revaz Mindorashvili the head coach of the team summed up the tournament in a talk with "World Sport".
"Taking the second place with on medal meens that the team generally competed in a stable way. "Throne Cup" is a very strong tournament and such result with a reserve team is very good. The candidates of the national team proved that, they can fight for taking place in the team. First of all I can say it about Gogava.
As for the news. We decided to give a stimulus to the coaches from regions, there were a lot of representatives from Gori and Kutaisi, thats why we took Arkadi Khinchegashvili and Gocha Kirkitadze the coaches from these cities"-stated Mindorashvili.
According to the head coach of the team, the plans for the nearest future is Ali Isav Cup on May 23-27 and Italian tournament on June 1. Georgian team will compete at these following tournament again with a mix staff. On June 21-23 is held Georgian Cup.
