Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Lomaia plays in “Inter” Baku. In 1998 he started playing in Georgian National Team and first his match was against Estonia (3:1) in Georgian National Stadium. He held his last match in Georgian Team against Estonia (2:1) in “Boris Paichadze” stadium. After this match he unexpectedly decided to finish his international career. He gave sincere interview with Azerbaijani extratime.  
- Unexpectedly you refused to play in National Team before starting qualifying round of European Championship 2012. There was not official comment about it. Just Temur Ketsbaia stated that you would not play in National Team.

– It is difficult to say the reason of my decision. You need not talk, you should feel it. I was thinking about it for a long time and made final decision few time ago.

- In process of decision what played the most important role?
- Nothing played important role. Just I played in friendly match against Estonia and decided that would not play in national team.

- But, if a person does not have some serious reason will not make such decision. In fact you refuse to play for your homeland….
- To tell the truth, in last qualifying season always was protest to goalkeeper. Some people were talking that national team needs foreign goalkeeper. I have family who always taking it on a heart. Psychologically statements, suppositions of journalists were reflecting to my family. I also was in difficult situation, in every match I was afraid not to lose control and make some mistake. Such atmosphere was disturbing me and that’s why I decided to stop it. If anyone blamed me and was dissatisfied, the best version was to leave national team.
-  Did coaches also blame you?
– No, they did not say anything to me. If Ketsbaia were dissatisfied he would not let me play.  Take it into consideration that during 12 years, I was called up for national team’s match all time. Since 1998 I cooperate to a lot of coaches and had rare relations with al of them. Just came time, when I need to start calmer life. 

- Do not you think that you betray your national tam before starting qualifying round?

- No, it is not true. Georgian National team was and always will be my national team. I watch our matches and I am glad for success. If they need my support, I will do my best. 
- Head coach of Georgian team Temur Ketsbaia in an interview with UEFA official web-site estimated your leave as “lose of decisive player”. What did Ketsbaia say to you?
I know that I made him a bit sad. Unfortunately I could not explain him everything. I did not have private talk to him. I talked about it to his assistant, who is coach of goalkeepers.
- So he is sad because you did not say about your decision yourself.
- Ketsbaia should not be angry with me. If make real analyze I did not make anything bad to him. I finished team career and that incurred me loses first of all.
- Did not other members of team try to make change you mind?
- They tried, but in vain. They understand me well and estimate my decision also well.
- Is it possible to change you decision after some time? What will make you return in national team?
- Now, it is impossible. I have made decision and it will not be changed. In spite of this, I am not young and it is time to let more prospective goalkeepers play in team.
- Kakha Tskhadadze new coach of “Inter” Baku and was captain of Georgian National Team how estimated you decision?
- He understood me and said that player has to decide himself such decisions. If anyone does not want to play, would be better to leave team and do not tense situation. My family also did not protest my decision.
