Giorgi Koripadze: "I Think We Can Beat "Neftchi"

On August 7 “Chikhura” will hold the second leg of Europa League III qualifying round against “Neftchi” Baku. In the first leg the Georgians played 0:0 in Baku. Everything will be decided in the second leg. The banner of “Fans of Georgian Sport” caused a disagreement in Baku. “Fans of Georgian Sport” may not attend the upcoming match as a sign of protest. The reason is the position of “Chikhura” leadership. “Fans of Georgian Sport” stated they were called “enemies” and they are protesting it.

We asked Giorgi Koripadze, football player of “Chikhura”, for a comment.

- Giorgi, “Chikhura” is facing a tough match. Draw in away match is not bad but neither home match will be easy. Besides that, “Fans of Georgian Sport” may not attend the upcoming match…

- First of all, I want to make comment about “Fans of Georgian Sport”. These people are supporting Georgian clubs and national team everywhere. It was unpleasant fact in Baku. They had the map of the united Georgia. The map showed our lost territories and I think they did it for the love of the homeland. We must forget this incident and stand together. We believe our fans will support us. I want to ask everybody to forget everything and support us.

- The president of “Neftchi” stated “Chikhura” is not a team.

- “Neftchi” is a good team but “Chikhura” can overcome this obstacle. That is why our fans must support us. We will do our best to overcome this round. It was tough to beat “Bursa”. So, I think we can defeat “Neftchi” as well.
