Ukrainian “Dnipro” Dnipropetrovsk of Jaba Kankava and Sandro Kobakhidze could not beat Swiss “Basel” in 1/16 final of Europa League and said goodbye to the tournament.

“Dnipro” lost the first match 0:2 and played 1:1 in Dnipropetrovsk. The Swiss club made through to 1/8 final. None of the Georgians showed up in “Dnipro”. Kankava was on the list but did not play. Kobakhidze was not even on the list.

“Rubin” Kazan of Solomon Kvirkvelia lost to “Atletico” Madrid 0:1 but had won away match 2:0. “Rubin” went through to the next round. Kvirkvelia was not on the list. Perhaps, the Georgian central defender will play on loan for Russian “Neftekhimik”.
