Georgian U-17 in Elite-Round

 

The qualifying tournament of European U-17 Championship 2010 in the 3rd group which was underway in the capital of Tbilisi, Georgia was finished. In the final round Georgian National U-17 Team played against Swedish team at “National Stadium” named after Boris Paichadze. They managed to beat opponent team 1:0 and went through the elite-round. Teimuraz Markozashvili scored at extra time after first half 1:0.   
English National U-17 Team played against Pole team at “Mikheil Meskhi” stadium. English B. Turgott scored at the 61st minutes and managed to go through the elite-round as it was expected.
According to the regulations of the tournament, 2 best teams go through the elite-round. Two best third-placed teams from 13 groups will add to them. Final tournament of U-17 European Championship will be held in Serbia at the beginning of May 2011.

Beside the 3rd group, qualifying round was finished in the 9th group.  Playing in elite-round is guaranteed for Greece, Germany, Austria, Norway, Ireland, Romania, Belarus, Iceland, Turkey, Denmark, Belgium, Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, Scotland, Spain and Russia. The Czech Republic (3 points), Israel and Finland ( both of the teams 1-1) still have chance being the best third place winners.
