A 3-man Georgian Aikido Team successfully returned from the Second Club Championship of Europe which was held in the city of Czech Republic, Budeovice.
Vakhtang Sikharulidze, Lasha Rostomashvili and Vakhtang Obgaidze held quite difficult matches against British, Belgian and Russian teams. Though, they won 14 medals: 4 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze.
Vakhtang Sikharulidze (president of Georgian Tomiki Aikido Federation): "It is worth mentioning that Georgian representatives of Kumite have never gone through the final of such high level tournament. Vakhtang Obgaidze managed to defeat the strongest opponents and went through the final. British sportsman who won last European Championship was his opponent. Obgaidze was beat with a little point difference.
Also, it is worth mentioning that Britain, Russia, Belgium, Switzerland and other countries had more than 20 sportsmen. Overall, 3 Georgian sportsmen showed the best result.
