Georgian freestyle wrestling team was left without first three places at intercontinental Cup which was held in Khatavyurt. Davit Khurtsia took Georgian team to Dagestan. Mainly young wrestlers were in the team. Georgia was in sub-group along with Belarus, Russia, the USA, South Korea and CSKA. Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria and Dagestan were in the second group.
The tournament was held according to team principle and first place winners of the groups wrestled against each other. Second place winners wrestled for bronze medal. Georgia could not get in top two and that's why they could not take first three places.
Dagestan became champion. The hosts of the tournament won decisive match over Russia. CSKA beat Azerbaijan in the match for the third place.
Several internet editions published results of Georgian team in different ways. One thing is the same in all sources - team of Davit Khurtsia won 3 from 5 matches. They beat Belarus, the USA and South Korea but lost against CSKA and Russia.
