On November 5-6 World Sambo Championship will be held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. As usual Georgia will be represented by 9 sportsmen at this tournament. 5 of them are already in Tashkent and 4 sportsmen leave tomorrow.
Oleg Iadze a head coach of Georgian team gave an interview to “World Sport”:” There is no flight in direction to Tashkent from Tbilisi, that’s why we leave for Tashkent from Baku. There are flights in four days. 5 of them have already left and 4 leave tomorrow”.
Georgian sportsmen had preparation in the district of Georgia, Dusheti and then in the city of Georgia, Gori. Levan Tsiklauri (82 kg) and Aleksi Davitashvili (+100) could possible to be replaced by Nikoloz Kutsia and Vakhtang Zoidze. Tsiklauri and Davitashvili feel quite well and are ready to do their best at this tournament. “Fortunately other sportsmen also do not suffer from injury. Georgian team expects 4-5 medals at World Championship. One of the medals should be golden. We will do our best to make our fans happy”- stated a head coach of team.
On November 5 champions and prize winners will be found out in 52, 62, 74, 90 and +100 weight categories. Ushangi Kuzanashvili (52 kg), Davit Svimonishvili (62 kg), Kakha Mamulashvili (74 kg), Mindia Bodaveli (90 kg) and Aleksi Davitashvili (+100) will represent Georgia. On November 6, Avtandil Tsintsadze (57 kg), Levan Nakhutsrishvili (68 kg), Levan Tsiklauri (82 kg) and Mirian Pavliashvili (100 kg) will wrestle. Ushangi Kuzanashvili, Mindia Bodaveli and Mirian Pavliashvili have already become champions last year. Bodaeli gained silver, Kuzanashvili and Pavliashvili gained bronze medals. Nikoloz Kyutsia has gained silver medal at this championship.
