Georgian National Judoka Team left for Tokyo at dawn, today. Tokyo hosts World Championship on September 9-13. 15 judokas are to participate in this championship. According to the decision of International Judo Federation each country which will participates in World and European championships are allowed to represent two teams. Georgian team used this quota. Exclusion is only absolute weight where trainer Amiran Totikashvili represents only one sportsman Aleksandze Mskhaladze.
Georgian team had last meeting in Tbilisi. They will have one week training in Tokyo and it solves their acclimatization problem also.
On September 9, on the first day of 5-day championship will be found out prize winners in 100 +100 in weight categories. Irakli Tsirekidze, Levan Jorjoliani represent Georgia in 100 weight category. Lasha Gujejiani and Adam Okruashvili wrestle in +100 weight category. Levan Tsiklauri and Giorgi Shinjikashvili are in 81 kg weight category. Varlam Liparteliani and Mindia Bodaveli wrestle in 90 kg weight category. 10 medals are for 81 and 90 categories. On September 11 Zaza Kedelashvili and Nugzar Tatalashvili are to wrestle in 73 weight category. Davit Asumbani, Amiran Papinashvili (both of them in 60 weigh category), Mindia Khomizuri and Shalva Kardava (both of them in 66 kg category) are to wrestle on September 12. The last day of championship is for absolute weight category and according to preliminary information two Georgians will wrestle in this weight category. Aleksandre Mskhiladze in 100 kg and in +100 kg category some judokas will join from 4 judokas who wrestle in individual championship.
According to Amiran Totikashvili, during voting of championship they will take under consideration rating of sportsmen and represent 16 best rating owner in each wrap. In a result to it it is quite possible that Georgians face each other in the first stage of championship.
