First water polo international tournament “Nodar Gvakharia Cup” ended up at swimming pool “Olympic”. Georgian I and II teams participated in the tournament along with Ukraine and Belarus.
On the last day of the tournament, Georgian I team beat the second team 22:4 and took the 1st place. On the same day, Ukraine won over Belarus 12:6. Ukraine won silver medal and Belarus won bronze one.
I-III placed teams were awarded with medals and cups. Sandro Bitadze, president of Georgian Water Polo Federation, awarded Belarus. Aleksandre Nikolashvili, vice-president of the federation, awarded Ukraine and Giorgi Gvakharia, son of Nodar Gvakharia, awarded Georgian I team.
There were some prizes for sportsmen:
The best player – Davit Kakulia (Georgia I), the best top scorer – Sandro Kazashvili (Georgia I), the best goalkeeper – Tsotne Intskirveli (Georgia I), the best defender – Zuka Chikviladze (Georgia I), the best central forward – Andria Bitadze (Georgia I).
