Georgian Foursome is Near the Leadership

The 4th round of at XI World University Chess Championship which takes place in the city of Switzerland, Zurich was successful for Georgian foursome. Sofiko Guramishvili (2343) and Tamar Tsereteli (2384) played against Mongolian chess players. Guramishvili playing with white pieces beat Uuganbait Lkhamsuren of Mongolia (2206) and Tsereteli drew with top rating owner Batkhuag Munguntaal (2412).
Georgians gathered 3-3 points and are in the 3rd and the 4th places. Zoja Severiukhina(2313) of Russia and Zuzana Borosova (2277)of Slovenia are  leaders of this tournament with 3.5-3.5 points.

In the 5th round Tsereteli with black pieces will play against leader Severiukhina and Guramishvili’s opponent is Monika Seps (2184) of Switzerland.
In men’s tournament Dvait Benidze (2504) with black pieces beat Nikola Nesterovic of Serbia and in aresult to it gathered 0.3 points and is in the 8th place. He is half point behind leaders of tournament Ilia Khmelniker (Israel, 2483) and Yue Wang (China, 2732). Malkhaz Sulashvili (2500) is in the 24th place with 2.5 points. He playing with black pieces beat Maryn Otte (2264) of Netherlands. Next round Georgian players will play with white pieces against Dutch players. Benidze plays against Roeland Pruise (2483) and Sulashvili against Stephan Kuipers (2370).
