Georgian Elene Gedevanishvili was in the first place after short program of figure skating at Canadian Grand Prix. Unfortunately, she did badly long program and finally, took the 5th place.
Gedevanishvili competed the last and she knew results of her opponents. Elene had quite difficult program and made many mistakes. She received 99.72 points and took the 5th place.
The Georgian received 57.89 points for program components and it was quite good result but she gained 42.83 points for technical elements.
Overall, Gedevanishvili earned 160.52 points and took the 5th place. 16-year-old Canadian Kaetlyn Osmond won gold medal with 176.45 points. Japanese Akiko Suzuki (175.16) and Kanako Murakami (168.04) took the second-third place.
