Gedevanishvili at "Skate America"

Georgian Elene Gedevanishvili started participation in the second stage of Grand Prix which is underway in the city of Oregon, Portland. Except Gedevanishvili, 11 girls are competing in this tournament. Sportswomen held short program at "Skate America" in "Rose Garden". Elene took the 8th place with 45.27 points.
A 20-year-old Gedevanishvili gained 20.41 points for technical elements and 25.86 points for program elements which is the 4th place. Though, it was not enough for success.
After the short program, 3-time European champion Italian Carolina Kostner is leading the tournament with 60.28 points. Also she won NHK Trophy. Japanese Kanako Murakami (54.75) and Swedish Joshi Helgesson (51.17) are behind her.
Long program will be held today night. Gedevanishvili will compete with number 5. At NHK Trophy which was held in the city of Japan, Nagoya, at the end of October, Georgian sportswoman took the 9th place (44.51 points) in short program, the 3rd place (97.01) in long program and finally, she took the 6th place (141.52).
"Skate America" is a stage of ISU Grand Prix where sportswomen are fighting for points to go through the final tournament which will be held in December. Prize money of Portland tournament is 180 000 USD. Winner will gain 15 000 USD and 15 rating points.
