The World Boxing Championship started in Almaty, former capital of Kazakhstan, in which Georgia is represented with 8 sportsmen.
On the first day of the tournament we saw two Georgian boxers on the ring. In the 91 kg weight category, Levan Guledani won over Tajik Jeikhon Kurbonov and in the next circle, on October 18 he will face Italian Clemente Russo. Unfortunately, in the first round Severian Chiladze (52 kg) lost to Anthony Marcano of Puerto Rico.
Giorgi Gogatishvili (60 kg) will participate on October 15, who will face Puerto Rican Danielo de la Rosa. On October 16, Zaal Kvachatadze (69 kg) will compete with Tarindu Gedara of Sri Lanka, and as for Iago Kiziria (81 kg), he will face German Serg Mikhel.
Avtandil Chubabria (56 kg) will take part on October 17 and his opponent will be Italian Jahin Parinello. After all, on October 19, Jaba Khositashvili (75 kg) and Mikheil Bakhtidze (+91 kg) will participate.
Khositashvili will compete with the winner between Ebhiset Khankhokhrea of Thailand and Hosam Abdin of Egypt, and as for Bakhtidze, he will face Jan Sudzilowski (Belarus).
