20-year-old Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili who played unsuccessfully at Cansas City tournament (50 000 USD) on Sunday (she lost in the first round), stays in the USA and will participate in Troy international tournament.
Tatishvili will be No.5 seed in Troy. Romanian Galovic, Croatian Lucic, Colombian Ducue-Marinosa and Canadian Marino who won Cansas City tournament have better rating than Tatishvili. Anna beat American Boserup 1:6, 6:2, 6:2 in the last tournament. She lost against future champion Riske (USA) 2:6, 6:1, 4:6 in the 1/8 final.
Another Georgian tennis player Salome Devidze was to play in Troy but she went through the final of Williamsburg tournament (10 000 USD) with Magda Okruashvili (Georgians lost against Russian Gabueva and Bulgarian Krivencheva 4:6, 6:3, 8:10) and she could not manage to play in the qualifying wrap.
Georgian tennis player are participating in the tournament (25 000 USD) which takes place in the city of Ukraine, Kharkov. No.1 seed Oksana Kalashnikova will play against Ukrainian Valentina Ivakhnenko. Host Viktoria Lushkova will be opponent of No.4 seed Sopho Shapatava. Sopho Kvatsabaia will play against Russian Marina Shamaiko.
In doubles tournament Kalashnikova and Ukrainian Arefieva (No.1 seed) will play against Ukrainians - Timchenko and Zakarliuk. Kvatsbaia and Shapatava (No.2 seed) will play against another Ukrainian duet Lisa and Pozhikhirenko.
Nino Sujashvili beat Belarusian Alina Ageichik (6:2, 6:0) and Babilina Machaidze (6:0, 6:2) in the qualifying wrap of Antalya tournament (10 000 USD). Now she will play against Swedish Paulina milosavljevic. Mariam Kurasbediani lost against Swiss Samantha Coelerer.
The final of Beijing tounrament between Wozniacki and Zvonareva was postponed because of rain and a new ranking of Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has not been published yet. Two Georgian tennis players - Nikoloz Basilashvili and Lado Chikhladze are in classification of Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Basilashvili is in the 741st place with 20 points and Chikhladze is in the 861st place with 11 points.
