Zaza Turmanidze a head coach of Georgian Free Style Wrestlers National Team stated the after finishing Georgian Championship stated the following in a talk with “World Sport”: I am satisfied with this championship. There were shown the leaders of Georgian wrestling. Those wrestlers who were expected succeeded. Beka Lomtadze is discovery of this championship, he gained silver medal in 60 weight category. Some young wrestlers showed the readiness for membership of Georgian National Team. Before London Olympic Games Georgian National Team will have 3-4 leaders”.

On November 26 champions and prize-winners were found out in three weight categories. There were 58 sportsmen in 84, 96 and in 120 weight categories. That’s why 3 hours were necessary for finding out the champions and prize winners.
Davit Marsagishvili from Stepantsminda became a champion in 84 weight category, he gained this title after winning over Giorgi Loijishvili and Levan Piloiani from Gori and in the third round he won over his brother Irakli Marsagishvili. In 1/4 final he beat Davit Akhalmosulishvili and in decisive match he won over Beka Chelidze.
Chelidze beat Nodar Egadze (Gori), Dimitry Kochiashvili (Tbilisi) Vefkhvia Jijavadze (Adchara) and Archil Kitiashvili (Gurjaani) before the final match. Kitiashvili and Irakli Marsagishvili won bronze medals.
Beldukh Gavashelishvili (Tbilisi) was considered one of the favorites in 96 weight category and finished championship without loosing. The fight between him and Elizbar Odikadze (Tbilisi) was distinguished match of the day. Gavashelishvili won over the opponent, but before this decisive match they beat 3-3 rivals. Gavashelishvili won over Giorgi Gogrichiani (Tbilisi), Mamuka Kordzaia (Adchara) and David Kerashvili (Stepantsminda) and as for Odikadze, he beat Arabuli (Tbilisi), Leri Ketishvili (Tbilisi) and Tornike Khidasheli (Gardabani). Kerashvili and Ketishvili won bronze madals.
Heavy weight category arose the biggest interest. There were 4 favorites in this weight category and those leaders fought against each other. Levan Berianidze met Giorgi Nikuradze and Davit Modzmanashvili fought against Giorgi Sakandelidze. Beriaidze and Modzmanashvili managed to beat their rivals.
In final match Davit Modzmanashvili wrestled against Berianidze and won championship.
Free style wrestlers finished Georgian Championship 2010. Greco-Roman wrestlers will compete on December 22-23.
