Winter Youth Olympic Festival has been officially opened in the city of Czech Republic, Liberec. Georgian sportsmen are among sportsmen from 40 European countries.

Zurab Bakradze was a standard bearer of Georgian team. Milan Stech chairman of Czech parliament, Jack Rogge President of International Olympic Committee and Patrick Hickey President of European Olympic Committees.
As for this event, three Georgians- Susana Gava, Tamar Bakradze and Elene Chkheidze competed at giant slalom on the first day of the tournament.  
Unfortunately, none of them succeed. Gava took the 61^st (2.05.43) place among 96 participants and Bakradze took the 72^nd place (2.17.76). As for Chkheidze, after first try she was on the 87^th place, she did not compete the second times, because stayed beyond the tournament.
