Tbilisi will host European Youth Olympic Festival in 2015. There was held voting of Olympic Committee general ensemble the 39th in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade. According to voting result Tbilisi beat a city of the Czech Republic, Brno. 49 representatives of Olympic Committee members participated in this voting. 26 supported to Georgia, 21 to Brno and 2 of them avoided of voting. The counting process finished several minutes ago and according to it Tbilisi won 26:21.
The candidates of this competition were given 25-25 minutes for gaining the final support. Georgian presentation was liked by everyone. Gia Natsvilishvili the president of Georgian Olympic Committee connected to “World Sport” after the voting and the stated the following:”
“ I cannot express my emotions by words. It is very emotion time for me now. We gained the biggest victory among very strong competitors. Gigi Ugulava the head of Tbilisi and State Minister Gia Baramidze made the statements in the hall. The president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili made video call to European Olympic Committee. Our presentation was consisted of folk elements and the video clips about Tbilisi Sport Infrastructure and city sightseeing. Duet “Georgia” performed live special songs for “Tbilisi-2015”. All this was such impressive and beautiful that some of them congratulated victory in advance. But only presentation did not cause this victory. We were preparing for this for half an year and our activities had result”.
Georgian delegation leaves for Tbilisi on November 29.
