Traditional Nakhichevan tournament has started in Azerbaijan, which this year is dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev. The "Nakhchivan Open-2013" five Georgian chess players- Mikheil Mchedlishvili (2640), Levan Pantsulaia (2556), Giga Kuparadze (2489) Javakhadze, Zurab (2448) and Bachan Morchiashvili (2337).
Of them in the first round, won only Mchedlishvili, he beat Azeri Orhan Abdulova (2371) with black pieces. With the same, not very well-known rivals drew Pantsulaia, Kuparadze, Javakhadze and Morchiashvili played draw with Konstantin Landa (2642).
The tournament is held on the Swiss system, 9 rounds and will end on May 1. Prize Fund is 60 thousand dollars, where the winner will receive 10 thousand, and the total amount is divided into 30 athletes.
