International Judo Federation canceled World Cup in Egypt. The tournament had to be held in Cairo after European Championship, but due to political turmoil in Egypt it was canceled. At the beginning of February the executive committee decided Azerbaijan to host one of the prestige tournaments – Grand Prix instead of Egypt due to the same reason.
But hosting World Cup instead of Egypt was not on an agenda. The tournament was canceled several days before.

From European Championship (Istanbul, April 21-24) to World Championship (Paris, August 23-28) are to be held the following international tournaments:  

May 6-8 – Grand Prix(Baku)
May 27-29  – Grand Slam (Moscow)
June 4-5  – World Cup (Bukarest)
June 11-12  – World Cup (Tallinn)
June 18-19  – Grand Slam (Rio De Janeiro)
June 25-26  – World Cup (San Paulo)
July 2-3  – World Cup (Miami)
July 9-10  – World Cup (Isle De Margarita)
July 16-17  – World Cup (San Salvador)
