Dzagnidze is the 6th, Khotenashvili is the 12th

 

Nana Dzagnidze still has the best result among Georgians in the renewed ranking of FIDE. In her active is 2556 points and is in the 6th place. The first five of women’s ranking is following: 1. Judit Polgar (Hungary, 2689); 2. Hou Yifan (China, 2621); 3. Humpy Koneru (India, 2607); 4. Zhao Xue (China, 2579); 5. Anna Muzychuk (Slovenia, 2560).

After Dzagnidze follows Bela Khotenashvili (2514), who played perfectly in the Tashkent Grand-Prix and is now in the 12th place. Besides her, another 10 Georgians are in the Top 100: 30. Our situation is much worse among men, only Baadur Jobava is among Top 100. He has 2694 points and is in the 54th place. Top 5 in men is following: 1. Magnus Karlsen (Norway, 2870); 2.Vladimir Kramnik (Russia, 2796); 3. Levon Aronyan (Armenia, 2795); 4. Alexander Grishchuk (Russia, 2786); 5. Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2783);

Zurab Javakhadze (2455) is the only representative of Georgia in the Top 100 among the juniors. He is in the 88th place. And among the girls, the situation is better: 8. Meri Arabidze (2374); 10. Nazi Paikidze (2337); 46. Mariam Danelia (2219).
